ABOUT ALEX NAGEL
I hold a Ph.D. in Earth & Spatial Sciences with a focus on water resource management and renewable energy development. Currently working as a Natural Resource Specialist for Farmers Conservation Alliance, an organization at the forefront of efforts to modernize water delivery systems throughout the Western United States. Previous roles in higher education include working as an adjunct professor, doctoral researcher, and teaching assistant. Alongside my background in academia, I have held positions with environmental organizations working in stakeholder relations, communcations, and river protection advocacy. Skills include university teaching, curriculum development, stakeholder outreach, grant writing, academic publishing, international relations, GIS application, and environmental assessment. I completed an M.S. in Geography and Hydrology, focused on water resource management and hydropower/dam policy. My Ph.D. dissertation analyzes the water-energy-climate change interface through irrigation reform in Northern Chile. I hold 8 years of teaching and research experience, and have earned professional certificates in Geographic Information Systems and Climate Change Studies.
