ABOUT HECTOR A CABRERA-FUENTES
Dr. Hector A. Cabrera-Fuentes is a results-driven professional with a strong focus on translating stakeholder feedback into actionable improvement opportunities, and turning these into achievable targets through close collaboration and leading by example.He earned his PhD in Biochemistry from the Medical School of Justus-Liebig University (JLU) Giessen in 2014, as part of the International Graduate Program “PROMISE: Protecting the Heart from Ischemia,” funded by the German Research Foundation. His contributions to the field have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the SERVIER-International Society of Heart Research Award in 2016. He was also a finalist for the Louis N. and Arnold M. Katz Basic Science Research Award for Young Investigators by the American Heart Association in 2014.In 2017, Dr. Cabrera-Fuentes was awarded a Singapore Health-Foundation research grant. In August 2018, he was appointed Head of the FEMSA Biotechnology Centre at Tec de Monterrey, Mexico. He later served as an Assistant Professor at SingHealth Duke-NUS from October 2019. Currently, he is a Professor at the Research Center UNAM-UABJO, Faculty of Medicine, Autonomous University Benito Juarez of Oaxaca, Mexico.
