About Alex Bye

I’m a creative thinker with an affinity for solving difficult problems. My experience developing strategic product recommendations at Liberty Mutual inspired me to pursue strategy consulting, which will enable me to dive head-first into my passion for problem-solving by helping clients across industries navigate a wide variety of critical challenges. A history major and economics minor as an undergraduate, I discovered that I could leverage the skills I enjoyed using most as a student, analysis and constructing persuasive arguments, to help companies achieve their goals. I joined Liberty Mutual as an analyst in 2017, where I applied my creativity and analytical skills to craft data-driven recommendations. Solving difficult business problems was exhilarating, and it was rewarding to help the company grow—for example, I overhauled the contract and pricing structure for a key coverage in Texas, generating 2% growth in a highly competitive market. During my time at Liberty, I became increasingly involved in strategy initiatives. I developed an investment roadmap for a suite of non-core products, identifying an opportunity to increase revenue by $5.6M. Later that year, I forecasted the future size of the U.S. auto insurance market and wrote a memo for C-Suite executives outlining investment recommendations for the company’s $12.4B auto business.While I loved using my analytical skills to help Liberty’s business grow, I’m eager to address a broader array of business problems. I’m earning an MBA with the goal of transitioning to a generalist management consulting role, which will enable me to drive solutions to a diverse set of client challenges. Outside of work, I’m an avid skier, hiker, and guitar player.
