About Alex Branscome

I am an experienced structural engineer and project manager with over five years of full-time work experience plus multiple internships both during and after my time in university. Through my work experiences, I have grown, particularly on the project management side, to become an effective team member who can not only work independently, but also work with a large team with a wide range of backgrounds. On my projects, I regularly interfaced with a variety of design partners and clients, and I learned to communicate and coordinate activities and information from these stakeholders and address issues quickly and thoroughly when necessary. I have also grown my engineering technical skills over the last several years, including performing hand calculations, computer modeling, understanding of code, and problem solving. I have work experience in a wide variety of sectors including heavy industry, manufacturing, and power; themed entertainment and attractions; K-12 education buildings; parking structures; and site design.I am a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering along with a minor in Business Administration. In my time at the University of Cincinnati, I took a wide variety of courses to help me gain a wider breadth of knowledge and to learn to see problems from different lenses. While on campus, I was an ambassador for the College of Engineering and Applied Science, held multiple executive/committee positions with both CEAS Tribunal and Chi Epsilon, rowed with UC’s rowing club, and volunteered regularly with Habitat for Humanity.

   Projects serve industrial and manufacturing clients throughout the consumer package goods, power, paper, chemical, food and beverage, and data center industries. Work has included the design for both new and existing facilities using concrete, steel, and aluminum, and ranges from small access platforms to large pipe racks to full facility design.
