ABOUT ALEXANDER BILYK
My work and academic experience has focused on remote sensing and innovation. I have a passion for finding solutions to complex challenges that has led to a number of industry partners adopting new technologies and solutions to solve real world business problems. I believe in the mantra of deploy or die not publish or perish, and while still being a passionate University instructor, bring over ten years of independent forest consulting experience to any project I am involved in. My work experience includes projects and training seminars in the United States, Ghana, India, Sweden, China, and across Canada. I have spoken as a keynote speaker at prestigious conferences including the IUFRO world forestry congress in Brazil and the Ontario Forest Industry Association. I aim to bridge the gap between academic leading-edge technology and practical business solutions. I also have a strong technology knowledge base to draw from. I am comfortable with many advanced GIS procedures and routinely leverage ArcGIS as well as open source software to make mapping relevant and effective. In addition, I have a deep knowledge of Remote Sensing and advanced image analysis techniques.
