Leading Project Controls for the Design House Joint Venture on HS2 (circa £40.3bn), being requested to join the Senior Leadership Team to provide input and challenge decisions, Alex employs advanced project controls methodologies and guidelines in a fast paced, strict deadline environment.Additionally, acting as the Commercial Manager across the eighteen projects within the Saltfleet to Gibraltar Point umbrella project, liaising with each Project Manager, Director and Client personnel to ensure all commercial reporting, invoicing and documentation is completed accurately within strict time frames.Typical duties and responsibilities:o Leading monthly reviews and updates on the forecast, collating and scrutinising data from Package Managers and Discipline Leads, confirming the alignment with the schedule, alongside resource allowance and constraints.o Validation, adjustment, and presentation of the monthly forecast reports to Client Directors. o Monthly management and update of the Application for Payment, generating invoices with the Client’s certified amount, challenging any withheld costs with justifications to ensure release of funds.o Continual improvement and enhancement of current processes by the creation of simplified graphical representations of data analysis, enabling real-time review, investigation, and conclusion, in a secure and accessible environment, with the use of Power BI, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.o Managing adjustments to forecast and report formats within the team in line with client requirements.o Creation of bespoke automated performance reporting and analysis support for both the wider team and client, ensuring greater efficiency, accuracy, and analysis.o Correction of resource hours and cost, as well as refreshing internal resource systems, to ensure accurate budget and forecast allocation amongst the project and companywide. o Creation of Compensation Events (CEs)/Early Warnings (EWs) for approval by Client.

Alex has twelve years of project controls experience in Capital Investment Programs, contributing to some of the largest national and international infrastructure and operational real estate projects within oil and gas, transportation, marine and nuclear, including the largest power plant construction in Europe, High Speed 2, Saltfleet to Gibraltar Point and Heathrow Airport. She has taken these varying opportunities to learn and innovate, creating a number of functional enhancements, driving efficiencies financially and operationally to consistently achieve project deadlines, all whilst challenging herself to endeavour for more. Performing to tight deadlines and restrictive timeframes, Alex is able to work under her own initiative, focussing on consistent improvement to develop new ways to be more efficient in her role and deliver excellence to her clients and internal team. Alex has advanced analytical skills including Power BI and has the ability to create interactive and complex dashboards from multiple sources, validate outputs, and present these dashboards to senior stakeholders and clients in a professional environment. Having gained extensive knowledge completing cost management on multiple complex projects, understanding, and mitigating potential risks of error in accuracy and reporting, she can develop, collate, interpret, and present large amounts of data and information, providing detailed reporting narratives at month end. Alex has an accomplished and proven track record and can understand different levels of output and expenditure information from various sources to deliver high level strategic forecast documentation.Alex has excellent communication and negotiation skills, rising to any challenge, especially under logistical and deadline pressures, by either leading or working within high performance teams, towards common objectives, and am a core member of the Senior Leadership Team on High Speed 2. As demonstration of this, she was a key member in the creation and approval for the Project Controls Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
