About Alexa S.

Who are you? What do you believe in? What do you stand for? What value do you bring? Though lofty, we ask ourselves and the world these questions — at least I know I do. Through storytelling, the answers become creative representations of reality. My first love has always been writing; it has been my passion since the first grade when I wrote about traveling to the moon (talk about dreaming big from a young age). Once the spark turned on, I could never turn it off. While working in journalism, I enjoyed stepping into others’ lives for just a moment to capture their realities. I will never forget hearing how mothers experienced their pregnancies during the pandemic – facing isolation, fear, and so many other frightening emotions, but somehow still cloaked in the love for their babies and growing families. Over the years, I\'ve also come to enjoy marketing and content development as other forms of storytelling that weave intentional digital assets to bolster communication. It’s a form of power to define oneself and take ownership of one’s narrative. Branding can capture that same energy and authority for an organization. Though sometimes dismissed as unimportant, communications can embolden, from capturing a video highlighting innovation to planning an event that invigorates everyone. So who am I? What do I believe in? What do I stand for? And what value do I bring? I’m a Black woman who hopes to be an advocate, ally and champion of betterment. I’m a writer who feels emotions and sees the world in the grayscale color that it bleeds. As I move through the world, I hope to breathe passion, creativity, authenticity and humanity into my work. No detail too small; no idea too big. Let\'s create some magic.
