About Alexander Arrow

Dr. Arrow is the CEO and co-founder of Virchow Medical, formerly known as Corramedical, Inc. He has served in senior management roles and as a board member of public and private medical device and biotechnology companies, in the fields of interventional cardiology (Arstasis, Inc.), neuroscience (Circuit Therapeutics, Inc.), immuno-oncology (Neumedicines, Inc.), dentistry (Biolase, Inc.), otolaryngology (Zelegent, Inc.), neuro-active peptides (Protagenic Therapeutics, Inc.), spine surgery (Carlsmed, Inc.), solid organ transport (Paragonix Technologies Inc.), ophthalmology (Insightful Instruments, Inc.), and automation of drug discovery research (Strateos, Inc.). He has a medical doctorate (M.D.) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). In his past work as a sell-side equity analyst for medical devices he was responsible for judging and identifying the factors that contributed to their success or failure. He has experience predicting the viability of hundreds of medical devices, ranging from small to large with market niches from incremental improvements to solving large unmet needs. His combination of analytical and management experience has provided him with an extensive network of individuals and corporations in the medical device field. He has an MD from Harvard Medical School and a BA in Biophysics, magna cum laude, from Cornell University.He began his career as a surgical resident, then as a medical device sell-side equity analyst for nine years, eventually as the head of med tech equity research at Lazard, Ltd. His words appeared in over 350 print articles and his Medical Technology in Perspective annual reports were among the most-requested publications of the firm. He was a frequent guest on CNBC, and gave on-air interviews with Ali Velshi and Kevin O\'Leary. He left Wall Street in 2007 to be the CFO of Arstasis, Inc, a cardiovascular device manufacturer backed by Johnson & Johnson Development Corp. whose product changed cath lab access procedures in 140 U.S. hospitals. He then became the CMO of Circuit Therapeutics, Inc, an early, ambitious Stanford-affiliated drug-device combination start-up, and then the President & COO of BIolase (Nasdaq: BIOL), the leading manufacturer of dental hard-tissue lasers, where he was also a board member, and chaired the audit and compensation committees.
