About Alexandria Brannick

Science, data, and technology are a part of everyday life, especially in today\'s world. I have always loved science and the process of figuring out what data can tell us. I eventually found myself pursuing a PhD in Biology at the University of Washington (Seattle, WA). For my dissertation, I studied the evolution of fossil mammals related to living marsupials (e.g, opossums, kangaroos, koalas).During my time in graduate school, I fostered my technical skills, but also discovered another passion: teaching and science communication. I had the opportunity to teach a number of different biology classes, contribute to the design of some of those courses, and create my own lessons. I utilized my teaching experience to design new content, including instructional videos and lesson plans, for a non-profit K-12 STEM organization—the DIG Field School. These experiences, in conjunction with my experience in public outreach at the Burke Museum & Pacific Science Center, helped me realize that I thrive in settings where I can facilitate deep learning and understanding, break down complex concepts to broader audiences, and engage with people. I am now using my teaching experience and skills to develop and deliver technical demonstrations of Smartsheet products as a Smartsheet Commercial Solutions Engineer! Happy to connect!
