About Alexandre da Silva Conceicao
I am a highly skilled hands-on scientist and a R&D leader in plant biotechnology of major crops: canola, corn, hemp, rice, soybeans, sugarcane and wheat. My projects related to plant transformation, gene editing, developmental genes, excision of genes, herbicide tolerance, insect control, disease resistance and male sterility of plants.My research expertise is strong on molecular biology, transformation of plants, control of plant development, cell biology and plant diseases. I have a track record as a co-inventor and value creator of genes, and as a principal investigator and technical lead of cross-functional teams that delivered results from gene discovery to early stages of product development. In my 30+ years as a plant scientist, I had job positions in the Ag Biotech industry and universities in Brazil, Belgium, France and United States. My qualifications in planning, coordinating and executing research are based on solid training and a global perspective of agriculture, genetics and genomics. My professional experience is broad, multi-cultural and can be utilized in numerous ways. I am excited in working with and developing people, collaborating with external partners (government agencies, universities, industry) and a firm believer that great accomplishments can only be fully realized through our concerted action.
