I am an ASCP certified MLS with 7 years of experience working in a blood center, a level two trauma hospital as a generalist with blood bank experience, currently a laboratory manager overseeing POCT, phlebotomy and processing clerks at two hospitals, combined over 1k beds with over 50 POCT sites. Expertise in Epic, Harvest and Meditech LIS, Roche, Hologic Panther, and Beckman instrumentation, Unity and Bio-Rad Quality assurance and control platforms. Certified MLS recently graduated with MBA in HR management. Expertise in core lab sections with eCW, EPIC EMR software and Harvest LIS. Familiar with Roche, Beckman, BioRad and Panther instrumentation. Leadership of 90 staff, managing a variety of staff from phlebotomists, processing clerks and Point of Care Coordinators for two hospitals combined over 1k beds, one Trauma Level One, and 10 off campus locations for POCT.· Work with Laboratory leadership as well as other Healthcare workers to improve POCT for on and off campus sites through providing education to operating staff and management of testing to ensure CLIA and CAP regulation are met. · Maintain and oversee all documentation control for POCT, including validations, linearities, lot to lot comparisons and competencies of operating staff. · Provide education and maintain competencies for offsite locations that require Provider Performed Microscopy (PPM) CLIA licensure. · Work with reporting supervisors to help boost team morale and retain current employees. · Work with local schools for students to come in to complete clinicals and begin employment.· Take part in the patient safety monitoring, with special attention to blood culture contamination.· Work with laboratory leadership for 5-year plan of new upgrades for the laboratory to include new automation line requiring construction of the area as well as new instrumentation.
