Teaches the Film Directing course in the CCSF Cinema Department. This is an advanced and intensive course where students learn the principles and responsibilities of the narrative film director, with a focus on working with actors and crew management. Students develop and direct their own films based on skills and knowledge taught in previous courses, as well as Directing. It is taught face-to-face with supporting CANVAS materials and engagement. Teaching this course involves developing a curriculum with activities, assignments and lectures to support the learning outcomes of the students and working intensively with students on their film projects through all stages of the production process. The tasks include producing and delivering in-class discussions and lectures, modeling activities, organizing group work and assignments, classroom management and student assessments. This position also involves collaborating with other instructors in the Cinema department, as well as across departments, to help support and facilitate students working together in film crews. The final outcome of the class is a public screening of the student\'s final films, which is a wonderful and exciting evening and opportunity for the student directors to experience showing their creative work on the big screen and celebrating the hard work of the semester together.
