About Alexandra Foltz

I\'m proud to be working as Senior Policy Analyst with the Sound Cities Association (SCA), which represents 38 cities and over 1.4 million constituents in King County. SCA\'s goal is to provide a collective, unified voice for cities on countywide boards and committees. My policy portfolio consists of regional issues in the areas of affordable housing, land use, and human services. I work alongside King County and local staff to provide the highest quality of policy analysis to SCA\'s members. I recently earned my Masters of Public Administration at the UW Daniel J. Evans School of Public Policy & Governance. My studies and employment focused on qualitative research methods, program evaluation, and social policy issues. My capstone project, titled \"Transforming Lives by Improving DSHS Social Service Application Processes: How Administrative Burden Affects Clients\' Access and Experiences with DSHS Programs,\" won the 2024 Social Policy Research Prize for exceptional research in social policy. My career has led me through local and federal government, higher education, nonprofit organizations, and research. I pursued a Master\'s degree to refine my policy skills and knowledge and identify areas of the public administration field that I am most passionate about. I hope be in a position where I can improve people\'s lives through policy work throughout my career.
