Director of the award-winning feature Widow’s Walk and the documentary Ship of Dreams: Titanic Movie Diaries, she is also the author of the upcoming The Titanic Diaries (The History Press, 2027) and host of the Titanic Talk Boyd is a British-American actor, filmmaker, author, and podcast host whose career spans more than four decades in theatre, film, and television in the UK and the United States.Best known to fans of the film for her role in James Cameron’s Titanic, her screen credits also include Mr. Holland’s Opus with Richard Dreyfuss, From Paris With Love with John Travolta and The Big Thing with Bryan Cranston. She is the voice of Governor Elaine Marley in the cult-classic video game series Tales of Monkey Island, and British viewers know her as Clarissa Mason on the primetime soap Coronation Street.After more than 30 years as an actress in the UK and the US, Alexandra pivoted into screenwriting, directing, and producing. Her debut feature film WIDOW’S WALK (2019), starring Miranda Raison, David Caves and Dame Virginia McKenna, won Best Cinematography at the Chelsea Film Festival in New York and is available on Amazon Prime and other platforms.Her documentary - Ship of Dreams: Titanic Movie Diaries (2025) is inspired by her personal journals, her career path to filmmaking and the diaries of her fellow supporting actors from the set of Titanic. Those journals are also the basis of her upcoming book The Titanic Diaries, to be published by The History Press in 2027.Alexandra co-hosts the Titanic Talk podcast, where she speaks with historians, experts, actors and Titanics superfans, affectionately known as Titaniacs, about the enduring legacy of the ship and the film.She speaks internationally at Titanic conventions and film events, sharing insights into the making of James Cameron’s landmark film and the cultural phenomenon that continues to surround Titanic.Alexandra is the co-founder of Artemisia’s Daughters, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering and supporting women of all ages working in film and television. She also hosts the organization’s podcast Fierce Female Filmmakers, featuring women blazing new trails in the industry.
