ABOUT ALEXANDRA THEROND
My main research interest is to create, assess, and deploy digital mental health interventions to tackle clinical and neurocognitive symptoms in psychiatric disorders.Over the past ten years, I have worked and studied in various institutions such as the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, Toronto General Hospital, CAMH, and the Douglas Institute of Mental Health. I have co-developed virtual reality cognitive remediation modules for psychotic disorders. In my last research project, I assessed the use of a smartphone application to measure sleep, cognitive, and clinical symptoms remotely from patients\' homes.Currently, as the co-founder of AugMend Health, I am leading the development of VR-based intake systems and interventions designed to optimize clinician time and enhance patient care. These roles have deepened my understanding of patient care and the importance of integrating technology to create bridges between individuals with mental health issues and clinical teams.
