Work with a remote team to manage and support the National Fish Habitat Partnership (NFHP) Board and its committees to implement America’s Conservation Enhancement Act and execute NFHP’s mission. Advise and recommend actions for the Chair of the National Fish Habitat Board, NOAA leadership, and NOAA’s Board representative to best utilize NOAA’s expertise and opportunities for collaboration. Support the nationwide network of NOAA’s National Hydropower Program to consistently implement NOAA’s Federal Power Act authorities and share tools, strategies, and best practices. Communicate regularly with regional staff to facilitate successful and consistent program implementation nationwide and identify topic areas for Board discussions and program challenges. Plan and facilitate quarterly NFHP Board meetings and bi-annual National Hydropower Program meetings of program practitioners along with frequent virtual events for both groups. Analyze legislation, policy, and executive orders with potential impacts on NFHP and NOAA’s habitat work. Lead a funding competition, manage, and track $1.4M NOAA funding in support of NFHP efforts that engage recreational fishing communities and improve fish habitat since 2018. Develop and foster partner relationships with Federal, environmental non-governmental organizations, and associations engaged in fish passage and renewable energy development. Craft web stories, podcasts, social media posts, and other communication products targeting specific audiences to share project successes.
