About Alexandra Holmes
Captain Alexandra Holmes began her career in law enforcement with the Broward Sheriff’s Office in 2002 and has a proven track record across various roles. She initially served as a road patrol deputy in the City of North Lauderdale and later advanced to property crimes and special victim’s unit Detective positions. In 2013, she was promoted to Sergeant, working as a Road Patrol Supervisor in the South Broward District (Pembroke Park/West Park), an Investigator in the Division of Internal Affairs, and an Operational Supervisor in the Civil Division. By January 2019, she earned the rank of Lieutenant, serving as Executive Officer in the Civil Division, Tamarac District, and the Division of Internal Affairs. In April 2023, she was promoted to Captain, serving as District Chief in the West Park District.Outside of her role at BSO, Captain Holmes proudly served in the Army National Guard as a Medical Specialist. She holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Lynn University, a bachelor’s degree in Supervision and Management with a concentration in Public Administration, and an Associate of Arts in Business. Additionally, she is a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute - Command Officers Development Course and has completed the FBI-Leeda Trilogy coursework.
