About Alexandra Hackney
I am a dually certified School Psychologist and Board Certified Applied Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I am located in the New York Metro Area, and I am interested in the science of cognitive psychology and the use of applying ABA principles to improve lives. I have been working as a School Psychologist with Success Academy Charter Schools since 2020. Before this, I worked as an ABA therapist with individuals with Autism and other social-emotional and behavioral disorders since 2017. I was also a 2022 recipient of an Excellence Award from Success Academy. I am an avid runner and have completed several half-marathons and two Abbot World Major Marathons in NYC and Berlin, Germany. I was featured in Runner\'s World Magazine in their national July 2022 issue. I was given both an entire page in the magazine and my article title is featured on the front cover. Further, I am a survivor of Juvenile Dermatomyositis, a rare but complex and potentially life-threatening autoimmune disease of childhood, primarily affecting proximal muscles and skin. I fought muscle weakness and skin rashes for 13 years. I have been in remission for several years and I am an Advocate for Cure JM. I will be speaking at their Advocates Council meeting in D.C. in June.
