ABOUT ALEXANDRA HAASE

Hello! My name is Alex, and I am an environmental scientist with background in aquatic habitat restoration, GIS, and environmental consulting. As a biologist for Kleinfelder Inc, I specialize in wildlife surveying, habitat conservation planning, and biological resource assessments for utility and infrastructure projects across Northern California. Additionally, I provide oversight and biological monitoring for projects involving sensitive species and habitats. When I’m not in the field, surveying for species of conservation concern or monitoring construction activities to ensure adherence to permit conditions, you can find me preparing detailed biological resource reports for our many clients, from PG & E, to local Counties, to State Parks. Ultimately, I aim to solidify a career that allows me to collaborate on impactful projects and spearhead environmental restoration efforts. I am driven to use my scientific knowledge, research experience, and technical skills to strengthen my workplace and local ecosystems—Previously, I served as a Marine Conservation Assistant for the Northwest Straits Foundation. On the clock, you could find me monitoring restored shorelines & intertidal habitats, processing data in the lab, and coordinating stewardship events. I also served two internships with the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association, restoring critical riparian habitat and supporting efforts to improve the health and abundance of salmon in the Pacific Northwest. As an undergraduate student, I worked as a research assistant for Dr. Kathryn Sobocinski\'s Marine Ecology and Coastal Fish Research Lab and Western\'s Marine Mammal Ecology Lab. Through these opportunities, I gained experience in data collection/ processing, lab techniques, habitat restoration, community outreach, leadership & and teamwork, GIS analysis, and on-site research protocols.I am excited to continue a fulfilling career in improving the health of our lands and waters!
