EducationI graduated from NC State in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with an Industry Concentration and a Nutrition minor. During my time at NC State, I took courses focused on animal anatomy, health and nutrition, as well as courses centered on agribusiness. Additionally, I was a Goodnight Scholar, a teaching assistant for Intro into Human Nutrition, and an executive board member of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity.ExperienceCurrently, I am working at a biotech start-up in Raleigh on NC State\'s Campus conducting animal cancer research. Oncotect has developed a test that can screen cancer early in canines using a urine sample. This is the first animal testing kit and cancer screening test that is affordable and non-invasive! I work in the lab, runnings these urine samples with nematodes that have strong olfactory senses when it comes to \'sniffing\' out dog cancer!Prior to that, I worked as an Associate Scientist at Immunoreagents, a Biotech company based in Raleigh. Additionally, I’ve been a veterinary technician at Bayleaf Animal Hospital and Trinity Animal Hospital. OtherDuring my free time, I manage my online craft business where I sell crochet amigurumi animals, pillows, and fulfill custom orders!
