About Alexandra Jung
Alexandra Jung is an experienced international development professional focused on learning and innovation to reduce barriers and build pathways for marginalized groups. Her skills include systems thinking and analysis, learning and knowledge sharing, program management and operations, technical support, staff management, training and program design. She has had the opportunity to utilize and grow these skills through in-country experience in South Sudan, Colombia, Nigeria, Uganda, Nepal and DRC. She also has an extensive background in written and oral communications including proposals, thought leadership pieces, technical inputs, presentations and trainings. Ms. Jung currently consults for a variety of international organizations conducting analytical work and contributing technical inputs such as the recent Adolescent Wellbeing Framework for Save the Children. She is deeply committed to the importance of seeking out and employing best practice and continual learning in programming.On programming and technical assistance, Ms. Jung worked for several years with the South Sudan National Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Commission providing technical assistance with a focus on reintegration of ex-combatants including livelihoods support, community projects, gender inclusion, M&E and capacity building. This project culminated in the collection of the lessons learned and knowledge sharing events. She has also worked with the DDR commissions in Uganda, DRC and Colombia. Regarding qualitative research, Ms. Jung has had the opportunity to learn from and summarize the knowledge shared by hundreds of individuals. She co-wrote reports on forced displacement in North East Nigeria & the Lake Chad region for which the team utilized a human centered design approach to conduct individual and focus group interviews. She similarly researched and co-wrote reports on children and youth experiencing displacement in the Lake Chad Region, the operations and effectiveness of programs for the returning children associated with armed groups in Uganda, ex-combatant reintegration status in Uganda, migration of pardoned former combatants in Uganda, ex-combatant and community needs in South Sudan, and the status of and challenges for male youth in Nepal.Ms. Jung has a Master\'s Degree in International Development Studies with a concentration in Children and Youth in Fragile States from George Washington University. Ms. Jung has a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University in Public Policy Studies. She is fluent in English and proficient in Spanish.
