About Alexander Trowbridge

Throughout my career, I\'ve been obsessed with finding new approaches to visual journalism and storytelling. I\'m currently working independently with work published in outlets like BBC, MSNBC and Bloomberg. Previously, I was a Senior Producer at CNN+ and a Nieman Journalism Fellow at Harvard University. After the fellowship, I moved to a farm in Maine and published a series about my time using the farm as a laboratory for innovations in visual storytelling.\"Field Testing,\" as the series was called, ran on Nieman Storyboard and was selected as a finalist for the Online News Association Awards in the category of Short Form Digital Video Storytelling. The five episodes can be found here: https://niemanstoryboard.org/tag/field-testing/ I came to the fellowship after two and a half years working at The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, where I launched multiple new digital series and helped to spearhead a strategy that lead to the show\'s first ever Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Interactive Program. As a producer and journalist, I worked at places like Bloomberg Politics, where the videos I made with my colleagues during the 2016 campaign were described by POLITICO Playbook as \"some of the best video content of the cycle - hands down.\"I was a digital reporter at CBSNews.com, where I wrote stories, produced videos and appeared on camera. At Politico, I served as a multimedia reporter, producing original videos and podcasts, interviewing high-profile public figures and filing live, on-camera dispatches from major events, including the 2012 Democratic and Republican conventions, presidential campaign bus tours, the general election debates and the 2013 Inauguration.
