Thryve is a Berlin-based healthtech platform that enables health insurers, life sciences companies, and care providers to unlock the clinical and commercial value of wearable and patient-generated health data.In my role as Insurance Consulting Lead & Business Development Manager, I work closely with Thryve’s CEO, co-founders, and board to shape our value positioning and go-to-market strategy across the insurance, life sciences, and care delivery sectors. A central focus of my work is building strategic partnerships with health insurers in Germany and internationally, translating everyday health signals from wearable and patient-generated data into scalable, real-time insights that support more proactive and preventative models of care.Alongside this strategic work, I lead enterprise business development engagements with global insurance organisations, including workshops, commercial modelling, and proposal development, and have delivered more than 35 strategic pitches to prospective partners. I also represent Thryve at key industry conferences such as InsureTech Insights and Insurance Hack & Con, where I engage with leaders across the digital health and insurance ecosystems. In parallel, I lead multidisciplinary implementation teams working with insurance clients to integrate wearable and behavioural health data into their innovation, prevention, and member engagement initiatives, helping ensure strong delivery outcomes and long-term partnership success.

ABOUT ALEXANDER SPALDING
The throughline to my career has always focused on bringing better, more equitable healthcare futures to life. This interest was sparked by my early days as a Wellcome Trust scholar at the University of Cambridge, where I was doing ethnographic research into the way the global political economy, the ontology of mental health disease, and digital product thinking intersect in the day-to-day practices of a small healthtech startup. Since then, I\'ve had the privilege of working across the life sciences, insurance, and care delivery spaces in a number of therapeutic areas to not only understand how executive-level commercial strategies and value propositions are crafted, but also how medical affairs, product teams, sales forces, and regulatory affairs have to seamlessly come together to bring clinical innovations to market. In particular, I\'ve cultivated extensive experience in the health informatics space, working with industry leaders across therapeutic areas like oncology, cardiopulmonary disease, metabolic disease, musculoskeletal disease, and mental health to use real-world clinical and behavioural data more effectively when it comes in oder to make healthcare systems more effective while also improving individual outcomes. In my current Business Development role at Thryve, I utilise my consulting and in-house product expertise to help our partners in insurance, life sciences, and care delivery unlock the clinical and commercial value of wearable and patient-generated data. I particularly focus on sharpening our value propositions for global health insurances and leading our strategic commercial partnerships within this key vertical.
