About Alex Sandberg
I am a driven healthcare professional who provides quality results that are measurable and long-lasting. I am passionate about accomplishing tasks as efficiently as possible and solving problems for an organization.Currently I serve as the Chief Executive Officer of Summit Cancer Care. Summit is a large Medical Oncology and Hematology private practice located in Savannah that has been serving patients of the greater Savannah area since 1976. In this role, I direct the operations of the group that spans across a clinical practice with 8 full time physicians and 16 mid-level providers providing services across four Savannah-area locations, a URAC accredited specialty pharmacy for oral chemotherapy, and a clinical research team helping to advance oral chemotherapy research. In addition to my time as an executive at Summit; I have spent time building and running revenue cycle operations within health systems, provided physician compensation valuations to ensure that agreements are within fair market value and comply with OIG regulations, and have served as a revenue cycle consultant focused on improving billing processes and increasing EHR optimization efforts across several large regional and national healthcare providers. I also have a strong background in both Strategy & Business Development as a Data Analyst and in the Ambulatory Care setting with a focus on patient experience, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. Throughout my career I have learned that I thrive in a fast-paced environment where I can work alongside physicians and other healthcare leaders, operational administration, faculty and various levels of clinical staff to develop data-driven solutions that are mutually beneficial to both patients and healthcare institutions.
