ABOUT ALEXANDER MALLMANN

I\'m a graduate student in theoretical solid state physics at the RWTH Aachen University. Currently I\'m writing my master thesis at the institute of theoretical statistical physics about topological materials and their properties. In my studies I focused on modules such as quantum theory of condensed matter, statistical physics, Density Functional Theory and Group Theory in Physics just to name a few. The analytical way of approaching and solving complex problems has always been a key motivation for me. Due to my studies I earned a fundamental knowledge in physics and statistics. I\'m familiar with analytical as well as numerical methods to study different kinds of systems. While my undergraduate studies I\'ve also learned to work problem oriented and independent with tight deadlines. From my lab courses and woking experience I learned about the importance of right analysis and right presentation of data. Being a good team player has always been useful in these experiences. In my eyes this includes proper communication as well as accepting constructive criticism. Besides my major studies I\'m interested in learning about other fields and to further develop myself. This is reflected in my attendance to other courses such as art and business classes. In my eyes one can always learn something from different perspectives on problems and the way of approaching them. An open minded way of seeing the world is an essential key to learn from mistakes and to improve.
