About Alex J. Rushin

Alex is currently the lead for the Scaled Security Impact function within Google Cloud\'s Product Security Engineering (PSE) organization, focused on preventing, detecting, and remediating security vulnerabilities across Google Cloud\'s product portfolio. Prior to joining PSE, Alex was the engineering manager for the Cross-Google Engineering (xGE) organization as well as a regional lead in Google\'s Privacy Consulting organization.Prior to joining Google, Alex served in the United States Marine Corps where he performed duties such as Network Architect and Security Operations Manager. Following his military service, Alex joined the private sector as a Security Operations Engineer, Network Operations Manager, and Technical Trainer for Cbeyond - an Atlanta-based telecommunications company. Alex then transitioned to Angel Oak Companies, an Atlanta-based financial services firm, where he performed as Principal Network Engineer and Chief Information Security Officer. Subsequently, Alex functioned as a Manager of the Atlanta Security & Privacy team for Protiviti, the business consulting arm of Robert Half International.Alex was most recently the global manager for Amazon\'s Payments Security Engineering group, responsible for the secure handling of all of Amazon and AWS\' payment transactions.Alex holds a Bachelors in Information Technology Management as well as a Masters in Information Systems Management with a concentration in Project Management.Alex is an active member of the Project Management Institute, Keller Project Management Student Organization, and the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium.Alex has served as the Division G Director for Toastmasters International, and is also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, a post-graduate professional organization where he served as chairman of the chapter board.
