My work load is split between retail, support and running the company e-commerce website. The website and associated blog was designed and implemented by myself. The blog is a standalone website with lots of useful information for my customers. Marketing, advertising and customer relations/support are part of my daily duties. At J&R Electronics, I was a SCO UNIX System Administrator for 17 years as well as provided help desk support (level for over 500 users in a UNIX/pc environment. My tasks included the orderly operation of a POS system; providing technical and client support. I also supported a host of I/O devices and resolved interface issues for different protocols. Training of staff was a more pleasant part of my duties. Prior to J&R, I worked in many diverse applications ranging from computerized accounting systems to systems analysis, data communications and general consulting in computers applications. In my spare time, I volunteer for an anti-poverty group as well as run my own childrens organization. I lecture weekly and enjoy seeing the children motivated to reach new heights in their personal and educational development.
