I focus on advancing groundwater sustainability by developing and implementing funding mechanisms for Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) to support their Groundwater Sustainability Plans, as required by the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). My responsibilities include identifying appropriate funding options, fees, or assessments, and conducting detailed financial analyses to evaluate the feasibility of these mechanisms.To ensure successful outcomes, I collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and private sector partners. This involves organizing and leading outreach meetings, public hearings, and discussions to build support, while addressing basin-specific challenges. I conduct thorough research and data analysis, utilizing tools like GIS and mapping technologies to develop targeted funding strategies.
