About Alex Stone
I am a highly motivated, detail oriented mechanical engineering graduate from North Carolina State University, working as a mechanical engineer at Hipp Engineering. Engineering the solutions to challenging problems is my passion, and I strive to continuously challenge my engineering ability to continue growing as a engineer. As a senior at NC State, an acute attention to design detail led to designing and constructing a diode sorting machine that would rank second amongst all Senior Design projects. An acute attention to coursework detail led to my graduation as a Valedictorian of the Fall 2015 Mechanical Engineering class. As a junior at NC State, I redesigned the sun visor on a Volvo truck and reduced Volvo’s costs for the part by half. As a freshman at NC State, my hovercraft design for the Freshman Engineering Design Day placed third overall.Soon after learning how to ride a bicycle, I learned how to ride a Honda CRF50 dirt bike, and I have been riding ever since. Over the years, as the dirt bikes have gone from a 50cc to a liquid-cooled 250cc two-stroke, I have gained a solid mechanical knowledge by learning how to fix them, and it has taught me how to learn quickly by examination. Show me an object, and it won’t take long before I know how it works. I learn quickly while still being able to focus on detail - allowing me to be trainable, adaptable, and versatile.SPECIALTIES-Pharmaceutical manufacturing design-Nuclear design-HVAC system design-Design for logistics-Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)-Hands on work-Flexibility and adaptability-Ability to form relationships-Creative design
