About Alexander Desterre

I obtained my PhD from the Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology where I developed my expertise in research design, quantitative and qualitative analyses, and scientific communication.While my original research focused on the development of cognitive biases throughout childhood I have since developed a strong interest in public health issues including health disparities and policy impact. In pursuit of these goals I have utilized a wide range of data analytic approaches and programs, including Stata, SPSS, R, SAS, MPlus, FlexMIRT, and GPower.

1. Manager, Data Analytics

   Oversees the execution of analyses using a variety of statistical methods (logistic and linear regression; longitudinal growth curve modeling; hierarchical linear modeling; structural equation modeling, time series analysis, or other methods). • Assists in conducting complex analyses as necessary.• Supervises a team of masters-level research analysts and at least one graduate student intern to optimize workflow in a face-paced, mission-driven organization. • Co-authors manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.• Manages the process of restricted access to Truth datasets.• Develops processes and best practices for maintaining large, complex survey datasets and associated materials (e.g, survey instruments, codebooks, the syntax for data cleaning and recoding); and• Work with contractors to maintain a data management quality assurance process.
