About Alex Coté

Alex Cote leads Align Impact’s Public Markets practice, where he is responsible for the investment strategy, manager research, and implementation of all public market exposures across the firm. He oversees investment design and due diligence across equities, fixed income, hedge funds, and liquid alternatives, guiding the construction and execution of client portfolios. In addition to his public markets leadership, Alex serves as a Portfolio Strategist, helping drive multi-asset portfolio construction across the firm. In this capacity, he advises UHNW families and RIA partners, consults on asset allocation, and bridges investment research with client-facing strategy.Prior to Align, Alex was a Portfolio Manager at Mercer Advisors, where he chaired the ESG Investment Subcommittee and served on the firm’s Investment Committee. He began his career as an Investment Analyst at First Affirmative, where he first developed his passion for aligning capital with long-term impact.Alex earned his MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with a concentration in Financial Analysis and holds undergraduate degrees in Finance and Accounting. He has passed Level II of the CFA Program. Outside of work, you’ll find him exploring the mountains on skis, bike, or by foot.
