ABOUT ALEXANDER VAN GILS
As Global Head Out of Home, Alexander is leading a cross-functional team of dedicated colleagues that are responsible for defining the global Out of Home strategy, building high-performing teams/communities, and enabling best-in class market execution. The Out of Home business at JDE Peets accounts for more than 1.2b EUR in net revenue (2500+ FTE\'s). JDE Peet’s is the world\'s leading pure-play coffee and tea company, serving approximately 4,400 cups of coffee or tea per second. Until October 2025, Alexander has served as the General Manager Professional for the DACH region. Combining his people-first and purpose driven leadership style with his entrepreneurial and competitive instinct, Alexander has a proven track record of building diverse and high-performing teams that consistently drive accelerated top-line growth and outperform the market. Prior to JDE Peet’s, Alexander worked 8+ years at Heineken, where his last position was National Sales Director Off-Trade and Out of Home. Throughout his tenure at Heineken Germany, the company had more than tripled in revenue and was the fastest growing brewer in the top 25 in Germany. Alexander started his full-time professional career at Marriott International as an international graduate in Paris and within 3 years he was promoted twice, with his last position being Director of Revenue Management. Growing up, Alexander played professional tennis and reached a world ranking of #231 (ITF Juniors). Combining academics with athletics, he was a Division I scholar-athlete at The George Washington University. Alexander has worked and lived in both Europe (e.g. Netherlands, Germany, France) and USA, and speaks several languages fluently.
