I have worked 3 years as a Systems Engineer with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Theater Battle Control (AFLCMC/HBD) at Hanscom Air Force Base as a contractor for both the Mainsail Group and Sumaria Systems LLC.The day to day work involves interfacing and coordinating with our project partners and vendors on the Tactical Air Control Platform Modernization (TACP-M) program, ensuring the systems as they are conceived or revised meet the requirements set forth by our Program Office and Air Combat Command (ACC), and that once procured are assembled and delivered to their operators in a timely manner. When the time comes for a tech refresh in the program, it is in my responsibility to develop the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) that will replace obsolete components with suitable replacements of equivalent or superior capability.It is also in my purview to review and update the documentation of systems, including the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), the Systems Requirements Document (SRD), the Programmatic Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE); as well as attend and contribute to programmatic meetings such as Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM), and Program Management Reviews (PMR).In addition, I have supported the fielding of our systems in person at multiple locations and have visited our partners so the Project Office may gain a clearer insight as to where their part of the system and our partners can clarify aspects of our requirements, all with a greater ease and haste than what is can be accomplished through emails and phone calls.
