As Head of Strategic Projects within the Operational Excellence department, my team\'s main responsibility is to diagnose operational processes in order to identify optimization potential.Conducting in-depth analyses of work organization and operational procedures within the production facility is one key aspect of the projects. Identifying potential inefficiencies, streamlining processes, and uncovering areas for improvement are integral aspects of my duties. My team spearheads the creation and execution of tailored improvement strategies, collaborating closely with diverse experts to implement innovative solutions aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.Leadership is central to my position, requiring the coordination and motivation of multidisciplinary teams. Guiding these teams towards a shared vision for operational enhancements is crucial in ensuring the sustainable success of implemented initiatives. Overseeing the implementation of best practices and ongoing monitoring of progress are fundamental components, ensuring alignment with predefined objectives and the realization of intended benefits.My main objective as Head of Strategic Projects is to use innovative approaches and proven methods to develop diagnostics with my team, on the basis of which measures for improving operational efficiency are achieved. The aim is to positively influence the performance of the production plant and make a significant contribution to the overall competitiveness of the company.

ABOUT ALEXANDER PLUM
I am currently working in the context of energy efficiency, climate neutrality and circular economy, which my team at Energy Excellence fully supports. As Global Energy Management Officer, my team and I continue to develop our DIN EN ISO certified energy management system and support our sites in developing energy efficiency measures to ensure continual improvement. The integration of the Covestro climate neutrality target (2020 to 2030-60% Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions and climate neutrality by 2035) in the energy management system is one of our major topics. Here, the topics such as heat transition, flexibilization of the energy supply and transformation of our production sites to climate neutrality are in particular on which we focus with our central team and local partners. As part of my career, I have been able to perform various exciting and challenging tasks at E.ON Ruhrgas, Bayer Technology Services, Bayer MaterialScience and Covestro: Head of gas analysis lab, project management in process analyzer technology (PAT), management of PAT maintenance, development of micro PAT (MEMS based), expert roles in the field of process automation and advanced process control, plant management (TDI), venture management for residue recycling technologies, head of investment management for BU polyureththetanes.
