About Alexander McRoberts
I’m a transportation planner and graduate student at the University of Maryland, with experience in multimodal analysis, corridor studies, and long-range planning. My work bridges spatial and statistical analysis, policy research, and community engagement to support more connected and resilient urban systems. At the National Center for Smart Growth, I support research on housing, land use, and transportation policy across Maryland. Previously, I worked for the Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council (SMTC) and the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), where I conducted geospatial analysis, public outreach, and design work for regional transportation projects. My approach is data-driven and equity-conscious, shaped by experience in both planning practice and applied research in the U.S. and Denmark. I’m always interested in collaborations that bring clarity to complex challenges in mobility, infrastructure, and the built environment.
