MYA Recruitment Solutions was a new start business in response to the improving post-recessive conditions in Aberdeen and the surrounding area. Alex’s voice would be the first you may come across and it is his honesty and integrity that he puts on the line daily on your behalf. MYA Recruitment focusses on delivering a high quality personal service, Alex knows the game he is in and continues to learn and develop; he has been on the other side of the fence to candidates both as an employer and as a recruiter and has worked in the supply side of the recruitment business previously.From over 25 years business experience in engineering, engineering product development and management, supply chain management, and business development; Alex has knowledge of the impact that people can have on a business from both the recruitment, as well as training and development angles. Over the years Alex has gained significant experience in the recruitment business; initially for a major multinational oil field service company and later as a recruiter for one of this area’s premier international business recruitment agencies, again covering the oilfield service sector. Therefore he recognises the costly mistakes that can occur if a business does not have the right person in the right place at the right time. Alex has learned from his exposure to a wide range of business cultures, and understands that that bigger does not necessarily mean better in recruitment business terms; he is continuing his wish to work with a small number of cherished clients to whom he offers a bespoke service. He has recognised that it is vital for recruiters to do their research and understand from the clients perspective what makes the difference between a good candidate and a great one. He continues to adapt in a new climate where employers recruit slightly less for skill and more for business fit through recognising this is now the main problem in the recruitment industry.
