Hi everyone, my name is Alex Lesnick and I’m a Jefferson Scholar from the University of Virginia where I studied Biomedical Engineering. At CW Optics, Inc. I built a Laser Speckle Contrast Imager for non-invasive blood velocity detection and a fiber optic sensor for IV infiltration detection.At the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) I was a Patent Examiner in the area of Image Processing. I saw medical imaging, compression, object recognition, tracking, classification, and many other types of patents. At Apple, Inc. I was a Camera Calibration and Test Design engineer. I worked directly with vendors at the module level in order to bring up testers and write algorithms to generate worthwhile metrics to characterize camera function. I was test lead for the rear cameras on the iPhone 8 Plus, XS, 11, and 11 Pro. I am excited to be at Cruise so that I can help to solve one of the most challenging and complex problems in the world.I currently live in San Jose with my wife Asifa and my infant son, Laith. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family, build lasers, and take photos. I love caffeine, live keto, and ride my Peloton when I can.
