About Alexander Labrie
Global organizations can be challenging and unwieldy. They can also draw strength through diversity and find stability by working in unison.Throughout my 24 years of leading HR at a large, global organization, my mantra has always been that we must be globally-minded and globally-aligned. By this I mean, we are best when we draw lessons from the many perspectives across our global organization, and we function most optimally when we create uniform systems that allow us to pull in the same direction towards our shared mission and goals. It is my job to create and maintain the infrastructure to support the mission of our global organization as well as the individuals who comprise it.Throughout my career, I’ve always tried to support organizations and individuals by approaching every decision with careful consideration, treating people with dignity, humility, and respect. It’s my firm belief that these principles must undergird all operational systems and processes, if those structures are to have a chance at being sustainable and producing long-term results. With these ideas as my north star, I’ve been privileged to experience a number of successes, many of which I’m quite proud. Some of my major accomplishments include: I streamlined our global payroll from 24 ADP accounts into 1 centralized system by implementing UKG globa, reducing costs from $1M+ to $200K annually.Consolidated our overall healthcare plans nationally and globally. Pre- IPO experience and Publicly traded experience I led all aspects of our news operations across global markets, ensuring strong, supported leadership, positive workplace cultures, and consistent branding. I supported revenue growth from $250M to $1B by leading the post-acquisition integration for 6 companies, implementing new payroll and HR for 600 employees in 40 countries.Successfully communicate with the Board of Directors. I was awarded “Leader of the Year” by Entravision’s CEO for my efforts in Global Operations and the implementation of a new Learning and Talent Platform. All of these accomplishments connect back to my belief in HR systems rooted in dignity, humility, and respect for diverse perspectives and people across a culture-spanning organization. I’ve learned a great deal from the experience of helming HR at such a company, and I look forward to continuing to apply these lessons towards the enablement of varied individuals all working together to further the same mission and goals.
Experience
Chief Human Resources, Learning, and Talent Officer
Jan 2018 — Present
I was promoted to develop and implement formal sales training and employee engagement programs while maintaining my existing HR and operations portfolios for a diversified global organization. Reporting to CEO, I direct a team of 20 direct reports including directors and global heads of HR, as well as 40 indirect reports including station controllers. I am responsible for $15M budget: I reduced HR and payroll processing expenses by streamlining global processes into a uniform one-stop-shop for all onboarding, off-boarding, and payroll procedures across markets and countries. I supported revenue growth from $250M to $1B since by leading the post-acquisition integration of radio and TV station workforces for 6 companies, implementing new payroll and HR for 600 employees in 40 countries. I achieved “Great Place to Work” Awards every year since 2017 by providing and protecting employee benefits including increased contributions to our 401(k) program and maintaining flat employee contributions to health care premiums for the past 10 years, all while positioning the overall value proposition for employees to aid in retention and attract new talent. I increased both revenue and engagement by securing buy-in, developing, and launching gamified sales training, first as a pilot program and then in all markets, contributing to a 30% increase in overall revenue. I promoted the importance of female leadership within a male-dominated industry by spearheading the “Women of Entravision” initiative, growing this affinity group from 5 to 60+ in 5 years and developing the company’s bench of female leaders through a platform for connection around shared success and career development opportunities.
