About Alexander K.
I am a PhD Chemical Engineer (MIT 2023) with a passion for decarbonization and sustainable chemical processes. I am currently working as a Molten Salt Engineer on the Blanket Team at Commonwealth Fusion Systems to develop molten salt systems for the planned ARC fusion device. My PhD thesis work focused on heterogeneous catalysis over solid acids and bases in a variety of contexts, including electrochemical promotion of non-Faradaic reactions, kinetics in microporous materials, and production of monomers for chemically recyclable plastics. I have experience across the board in electrochemistry, catalyst synthesis, characterization, and measuring kinetic properties in both gas and liquid phase. I work well independently or as part of a team and have excellent written and presentation skills.
