About Alexander Jaffe Williams

My name is Alexander Jaffe Williams, but I normally go by AJ Williams. I am currently a fourth-year student at Northeastern University in Boston studying International Affairs, Economics, and Russian Language. Throughout my time at Northeastern, I have developed a strong understanding of international law and its role in the global economy. While at Northeastern, I have been awarded for my studies by receiving a place on the Dean’s List for every semester I have been an active student on the Boston Campus. I also spent a semester abroad at Trinity College Dublin, where I spent my time studying international economics as well as Irish Politics. Throughout my time at Northeastern, I have been an active member of the International Relations Council: Northeastern’s Model United Nations, Model NATO, and Model Arab League club. From my time in this club, I have been elected to the position of Assistant Head Delegate for our team at the 2023 McGill Model United Nations Conference as well as our 2023 National Collegiate Security Conference team. As well, in 2024 I became the founding Secretary General of Northeastern\'s Model NATO Conference (NUNATO). This conference was a passion project of mine to encourage students to look deep into one of the most impactful global alliances in history. I have also gained valuable experience through jobs in the legal field, internships, and coursework that have allowed me to develop my analytical and research skills. I spent my first co-op at Wellington Management working in their tax department. While employed at Wellington, I was able to accumulate experience in areas such as financial accounting, tax law analysis, and international tax compliance. At my second Co-op I worked for Ropes and Gray LLP where I had the honor of experiencing the \"big law\" atmosphere. I worked on the information governance department where I got hands on experience with a plethora of legal documentation and learning how to properly file documents. As well, I the privilege of working for Schlesinger and Buchbinder LLP, an amazing real estate law firm in Newton, Massachusetts for 8 months. From my work at these firms, I am dedicated to pursuing a future career in the legal sector. In addition to my academic and professional experiences, I can speak Russian at the intermediate level which I believe would be an asset in a corporate law setting.
