As the Director of Water Resources, I provide direction and leadership on TRCP\'s approaches to complex water resource issues. I set TRCP\'s national freshwater policy strategies, focusing on strengthening federal and state protections for wetlands and streams, increasing the pace and scale of riverscape restoration efforts on public lands, and advancing innovative solutions to address drought and climate change. Through TRCP, I have secured legislative victories through the Farm Bill, Water Resources Development Act, appropriations bills, and other federal legislation. I have also helped advance several state policy victories in Colorado and New Mexico. In addition to policy work, I also manage TRCP\'s positions through coalitions and partnerships, lead philanthropic fundraising efforts to support our freshwater policy work, and coordinate communications to advance our freshwater policy portfolio. Recent successes include- Working to advance legislation in Colorado creating the first comprehensive wetland protection program at the state level following the Sackett decision - Testifying before Congress on the important role the Farm Bill plays in addressing western water challenges - Securing bipartisan support for federal legislation creating a new program at the Bureau of Reclamation that would fund local capacity-building to increase the pace and scale of multi-benefit water projects
