I am the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Operations & Planning Compliance Engineer here at the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities. I’m responsible for working with our Operations and Planning teams to implement and enhance KCBPU’s NERC Compliance Program and sustain compliance with all NERC Reliability Standards.• Build out the KCBPU Corporate Compliance Program lead by our Chief Compliance Officer.• Work at the direction of our NERC Compliance Officer in order to meet all regulatory demands.• Organize documents imperative to our compliance programs and internal controls.• Stay abreast to information from DOE, FERC, NERC, MRO, SPP, and analyze the impact to KCBPU.• Build strong working relationships with Subject Matter Experts in Operations & Planning Depts.• Monitor any non-compliance activity and ensure the self-reports of any occurrence.• Lead internal compliance assessments, review evidence and submit documentation.• Maintain communication with SMEs & assist them in developing & maintaining various programs.• Assist our SMEs with MRO Audit preparation and all things pertinent to regulatory compliance. • Organize and present our monthly KCBPU NERC Compliance Meeting.• Assist our Corporate Compliance team in building a strong internal commitment to compliance.• Provide support to our Senior CIP Compliance Specialist & cross-train on NERC Cyber Standards.

I’m proud to be one of the first KCBPU employees to volunteer for our new partnership with The Learning Club program! Through this initiative, we’ll mentor students at Whittier Elementary School with a focus on reading, in addition to supporting other charitable events that uplift our community. I\'m excited for the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on young minds in Wyandotte County.In my role, I am committed to driving operational excellence and helping our utility reach elite performance standards through the adoption of best business practices. I support efforts to deliver efficient, reliable, and affordable energy to our ratepayers. By analyzing regional and national energy trends, I assess their implications for our utility and apply my expertise to help meet the evolving power needs of our community. I work collaboratively with colleagues across departments and with trusted external partners to strengthen relationships and operational resilience. I also prioritize team readiness—ensuring we maintain strong situational awareness and take proactive steps to uphold system reliability and regulatory compliance.
