   Manage a budget of over 20 million dollars in annual and supplemental federal funds to the Gila National Forest, ensuring money is accounted for and spent appropriately to sustain the National Forest• Serve as Acting District Ranger as need arises, ensuring mission continuity while providing leadership and guidance to District employees and engaging with members of the publico Cooperate with local law enforcement to increase safety and enforcement of laws within the district by enhancing synergy and communication between our agencieso Engage with members of the public answering questions and coordinating a response with the District Rangero Create a safe, collaborative space for dialogue amongst employees to solve internal issues and enhance team synergyo Manage emergency situations such as fire and facility issues, ensuring proper procedures are followed and adequate response is mounted • Audit and oversee financial operations on 6 separate Ranger Districts spanning 3 million acres, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance• Serve as unit expert on federal appropriations law, advising forest leadership on reporting and legal requirements that are attached to funds• Create and maintain billing accounts providing administrative support to those in the field• Provide biweekly and quarterly briefings to the forest leadership team to establish communication on unit priorities and advise on budget management and strategy• Interpret and analyze federal budget policy from the Washington Office and the Regional Office to accurately implement Forest Service policy and strategy• Analyze financial data to spot trends, identify opportunity and implement federal policy in support of the Forest Service mission
