About Alexander Ciolek
Captain Alexander Ciolek is a US Space Force Program Manager and currently serves as the Executive Officer to the Commander, System Delta 80, under Space Systems Command and the Space Access Program Acquisition Executive. Prior to his current assignment, Capt Ciolek served as a Program Manager for the Engineering Division of the Assured Access to Space program office, where he served as the Chief of Spacelift Requirements. In this role, he acted as a System Safety Manager (SSM) overseeing a Delta-level safety team to develop Space Debris Assessment Reports (SDAR), develop launch Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM), and ensure Orbital Debris Mitigation Standard Practice (ODMSP) compliance for the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program. Capt Ciolek also spearheaded the Space Force’s International Launch and Space Debris Recovery efforts.Capt Ciolek commissioned into the Air Force through the Officer Training School (OTS) in September 2019. In February 2021, Capt Ciolek voluntarily transferred to the Space Force.Capt Ciolek is a native of Wilmington, Delaware, graduating from the University of Delaware with a Batchelor’s in Economics and Political Science in 2016, and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in 2019. Capt Ciolek is currently pursuing a Master’s in Space Systems with the Florida Institute of Technology. Prior to joining the Air/Space Force, Capt Ciolek served as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT and was appointed as a Fire Engine Captain with Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Company in Newark, Delaware. Here, Capt Ciolek responded to over 2,500 emergency 911 calls and logged over hours of formal Fire/Rescue/Medical/Hazmat/FEMA training. Capt Ciolek was also recognized with 3 annual department awards for the most emergency 911 calls responded to, and largest number of training hours achieved, as well as 3 unit citations for heroic actions displayed on emergency calls.
