ABOUT ALEXANDER BROVKIN

I have 30 years of experience in marine facilities engineering, fabrication, cost estimation, logistics and support operations for ship construction and oil & gas developments in cold regions worldwide. A naval architect by education, I started my career as a field engineer at a Far Eastern shipyard, prior to being promoted to outfit and trials manager for a barge-mounted nuclear treatment plant.I was a member of the team responsible for the design, installation and commissioning of the Molikpaq platform offshore Sakhalin Island. I oversaw the large-scale logistical effort in support of drilling and production from this platform, which included aviation and helicopter base, crew change, marine base and all marine operations.I participated in the design of the second artificial production island offshore Alaska, and front-end design for gas production facilities in the Mackenzie Delta (Canada).I was extensively involved in the transportation projects of very large modular (VLM) structures to remote areas without infrastructure, combining marine and overland methods.I managed an offshore exploration drilling project in the NW Caspian, which entailed fabrication of a unique drilling facilities, including a jack up pontoon-mounted drilling rig and a number of moored floating utility barges.I advised Chevron Arctic Center on the matters related to offshore facilities, MODUs, marine support, exploration and production logistics, product export and shipping, remediation projects, full field development concepts, and cost estimation.I worked for LNG Canada as a Marine Project Advisor, responsible for managing marine traffic, and coordinating marine support operations during modification of Port of Kitimat; also advising on the design of marine support system for the future LNG export operations.
