About Alexa Mills
If you had told me during my freshman year of college that I would build a career in Human Resources, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Yet today, I cannot imagine myself in any other field. Human Resources is far more than hiring, terminations, and benefits administration. At its core, it’s about people: building trust, navigating complex situations with integrity, ensuring compliance, and helping employees and organizations grow together. I am passionate about creating structured, compliant HR processes while maintaining the human connection that makes workplaces thrive. Outside of my professional career, I am a dedicated advocate for kidney disease awareness. After receiving a kidney transplant in July 2024, I became deeply committed to educating others about kidney health and supporting individuals navigating similar journeys. In 2025, I had the honor of serving as the Honorary Patient Chair for the Alabama Kidney Foundation, an organization that assists dialysis patients and kidney disease survivors with critical treatment-related expenses. Advocacy and service are deeply personal to me and remain an important part of who I am. I am always open to connecting with fellow HR professionals, healthcare advocates, and leaders who are passionate about building strong organizations and stronger communities.
