Experience within the Level II Trauma Center includes supervising over 75 Emergency Department staff members while developing & implementing unit improvement initiatives to foster professional nursing practice and improve patient care outcomes. Duties include inter-professional collaboration throughout the hospital system, attending administrative meetings with house leadership and Chief Officers, supervising patient care operations, standardizing nursing practice, hiring and onboarding new staff, managing and evaluating staff performance, fixing charges, facilitating disciplinary actions as needed, auditing charts, patient rounding, and daily staff maintenance including scheduling and serving as the shift leader to ensure effective operation of the department. Within six months, improved metrics including decreasing LWOT (Left Without Treatment) percentage from 6.23%(2023) to 3.53%(Q1 & Q2 2024) & decreasing Decision to Disoposition Time from 327.5 minutes (2023) to 157 minutes (Q1 & Q2 2024), and increased patient satisfaction scores from 44.16% Overall Rating (Q4 2023) to 55.9%(Q2 2024). Major initiatives included reimplementing the Pediatric Emergency Department, assisting in the development of Nurse-Driven Protocol Orders, obtaining the recertification to be a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and restructuring the department.
