ABOUT ALEXA MARTIN WAKE
Born and raised in the Valley of the Sun, I am a fourth-generation Arizona resident and a third-generation Arizona public servant. Before, during, and after graduating from Arizona State University with a Master\'s Degree in Public Administration, I have had opportunities to gain valuable municipal experience while working for the Town of Gilbert, the Alliance for Innovation, Envisio\'s GovBenchmarking, the City of Chandler, and the City of Phoenix. Prior to attending college, I spent a summer interning with the Town of Gilbert in their Town Manager\'s Office. Many years later, that first brief introduction to municipal management led me to pursue higher education in public service. I graduated Summa Cum Laude, Class of 2016 from Arizona State University, with a Bachelor\'s Degree in Sociology and a minor in Public Policy. In 2016, I was awarded the Marvin Andrews Fellowship by Arizona State University\'s School of Public Affairs, in pursuance of a Master\'s Degree in Public Administration (MPA). During my MPA program, I worked for the Alliance for Innovation, the City of Chandler, Arizona State University, and Envisio Solutions. I graduated Pi Alpha Alpha, Class of 2018. Prior to graduation, I accepted a position as a Management Intern with the City of Phoenix. In July of 2019, I completed the Phoenix Management Internship and accepted a position as the Management Assistant to the Budget and Research Director with the Budget and Research Department at the City of Phoenix. In March of 2020, I was promoted to Management Assistant II to the Budget and Research Director. In May of 2021, I was promoted to Management Assistant II to the Assistant City Manager, in the City Manager\'s Office. In October of 2021, I was promoted to the Management Assistant II to the City Manager, in the City Manager\'s Office. In July of 2024, I decided to take a lateral transfer to a part-time fully remote position in the Human Resources Department in order to spend more time with my growing family.
