About Alexa Ball
I’m a Vice President of Marketing and Operations at JDI. I believe that the world flourishes when we are brave enough to change our minds. My mission is to steward that process in others: the clients I work with, the markets they serve, or the individual members of our team. I’ve developed expertise in building brand stories and identities, and in developing strategies to use those narratives effectively to influence markets. A few notable clients: Natural Fiber Welding, edX, Color Factory, and Dimension Inx. In addition to the time I spend with clients, making sure our strategies meet their business needs and are executed with both creativity and precision, I also focus on growing our team (in all senses of the phrase) through recruiting, training, and development. When we succeed in this department, we create conditions for people to grow in their craft, as leaders, and as professionals. The other piece of my person belongs to my community. I’m a therapeutic riding instructor and President of the Board at Healing with Horses Ranch. I work with my hands as much as possible, and you\'ll most likely find me adventuring with my canine-companion, Luna or spending time with my ex-racehorse-turned-equine-therapy-horse, Calloway. I call many places home, having been born in Canada, raised in Charleston, and educated in Scotland. I\'m always on the lookout for folks at the crossroads of science and communications, who are eager to use that influence on companies that matter - please introduce me! I’m also always eager to discover companies disrupting the status quo, as these are the ones that bring out the best in JDI’s work.
