ABOUT ALEX WILLIAMS

Currently in my third and final year of my undergraduate degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology at the University of Portsmouth. Alongside this for the last two years I have been completing an internship with Portsmouth FC as an Academy Performance Analyst. During my time here I have gained proficiency in using various capture methods (cameras and drones), coding software (Hudl Sportscode) and other analysis tools such as Hudl Studio, Keynote and Tableau. I have also had the opportunity to deliver performance analysis workshops and insight reports to players and coaches. I am currently seeking for a new placement opportunity with a professional football club for the 2026/2027 season to complement my masters in Sport Performance Analysis at the University of Worcester. Alongside my experience in performance analysis I also have four years’ experience of coaching in football, schools and community settings. This has come through my employment with Move More, a non-profit charitable organisation with the aim of empowering every child to thrive through an active and healthy lifestyle. This was first as a PE Apprentice, then as a full time Physical Activity and Health Coach and now as a Casual Coach, serving as a camp leader over the school holidays. Also, through my time as voluntary football coach with Kempsey Colts FC and now UPFC 3’s as part of the men’s university football programme. This has led to me gaining FA standard qualifications (UEFA C Diploma, Introduction to Coaching Football) and the Level 2 Community Activator Coach which I acquired at the end of my apprenticeship with Move More. In addition, I also hold mandatory first aid and safeguarding qualifications.
